8. How to Create a Chart of Accounts

There are 2 ways to create your Chart of Accounts: manual entry or import via excel. Only system administrators can create CoAs.


Manual Entry Method:
  1. Navigate to the hamburger bar and locate the Chart of Accounts under the Configuration section.

  2. Click the Add button, where you'll be prompted to provide a name for this chart of accounts and specify the category it belongs to. Once details are entered, click the Add button to proceed.

  3. As you scroll down, locate the newly formed chart of accounts and add a unique code and description for each line item and hit save

  4. You can then add child codes to the parent codes by clicking the arrow button and providing detailed descriptions for each subsequent child code and then hit Save.

  5. Review and access your chart of accounts by clicking the up arrow.


Import from Excel Method:
  1. From the menu icon on the top left hand side of the screen, go to Configuration > Chart of Accounts.

  2. Press the upload icon, next to the yellow plus icon.

  3. Download the sample file and arrange your CoA using that format.

  4. Before you can upload your Excel file, you will need to define the range name. To do this, highlight the full range of your data then from the Formulas tab, press define name. The name will have to be "CoA".

  5. Going back into UniPhi, press the upload icon, name your CoA and upload your file.

  6. Press save and all your codes will be added.
