Resource Planning, overhauled

The Resource Planning interfaces have been rebuilt in UniPhi 22, with many more options for quickly establishing a resource plan and keeping it current as the project moves.

What you’ll notice

•       One working grid: the plan is edited in a single grid combining plan parameters (standard hours, hours per week, % allocation, duration in weeks) with outcomes (remaining, actual, total and budget hours) and the week-by-week phased values — scroll and type, just like a spreadsheet.

•       Quick establishment: set an allocation via hours per week, a percentage of standard hours, or a duration, and the phasing populates for you; a Phasing Method can be chosen per line (e.g. Manual or Weekly).

•       Actuals and forecast together: an Actuals To date splits history from forecast, with the Act/Fcst phase view showing booked timesheet hours flowing into the remaining plan.

•       Snapshots and comparisons: capture a snapshot of the plan (camera icon) and use the Compare To selector to track drift between budget, forecast and any saved snapshot.

•       Flexible views: switch units (hours and other measures), filter which resources are shown, toggle Show All Resources, and view the accompanying Resource Plan Hours chart of actual versus forecast.

Where to find it

Select a project and go to Resources → Resource Planning. The same planning concepts also appear in the contract Schedule view for revenue contracts, so consultancy businesses can plan directly against contract deliverables.
