UniPhi 18 to UniPhi 21 - New Features

⚙️ Abilities


  • Added ability to mark a project custom field file or image attachment as "Is Public", which allows anonymous access to the file for uses such as embedding in an external system like PowerBI or Sharepoint

  • Added ability to capture a URL against each contract, for having a convenient link to things such as order tracking

  • Added ability to configure a contract template to move the contract / deliverable status to any specified status on signoff

  • Added ability to edit the last signed off invoice transactions via the Last Claim contract tab for contracts using the Claim Time or Portfolio Wide Invoice methodology

  • Added ability to generate a month end snapshot of contract effort and cashflow data on close of a financial period for reporting

  • Added ability to import contract level resource planning

  • Added ability to add a comment against each budget line

  • Added ability to clear the current Budget across a portfolio of projects

  • Added ability to import Untendered forecast via the Excel copy/paste

  • Added ability to create Guided Workflows, which ask the person logging an issue a series of configurable questions, the answers to which can optionally trigger Workflows (the data structure formerly known as Issue Templates) to occur

  • Added ability to generate an issue from a File or Annotations, linking the two together for collaboration

  • Added ability to add charts to the Portfolio Summary screen

  • 🆕 Added French translation

  • 🆕 Added ability to define multiple working day Calendars to handle holidays in multiple jurisdictions, each project may have one Calendar

  • 🆕 Added ability to create and update projects via the API (also listed under API)


🔌 API


  • API: Added ContractualBillableTime endpoint, which exposes time data with business rules applied such as weekly billable caps, bespoke overtime rules, etc.

  • API: Added ProjectStatus endpoint

  • API: Created TimesheetImport endpoint, which accepts transactional timesheet information and imports it into UniPhi, including an error handling

  • API: You can now create and update projects via the API

  • API: Added /api/EmploymentType and /api/RateMultiplier

  • API: Added PersonProject and PersonRole API endpoints to manage resources on UniPhi projects

  • API: Added support for the Client Credential OAuth flow, this is intended to replace the deprecated Basic Authentication and the Password OAuth flow

  • 🆕 Added /api/personorganisation endpoint

  • 🆕 Added EffortModifiedByID, EffortModifiedByName and EffortModifiedDate fields to /api/contract

  • 🆕 Added PUT, POST and DELETE methods for /api/milestone and /api/milestonehistory

  • Configuration: There are now a suite of configuration settings available, including password policy, timesheet, resource, budget, contract and project related settings

  • Configuration: Administrators may now configure the email notification schedule under Configuration -> System


📃 Contracts


  • Contracts: Added a Contract No field

  • Contracts: Added a Portfolio Schedule screen, for reviewing and getting quick access to contract level resource planning across the portfolio of ProjectSummary

  • Contracts: Program Time & Material expenses imports can now be configured to generate a disbursement entry automatically after marking an expense as revenue billable and mapping it to a UniPhi project

  • Contracts: When reviewing assignments for deliverables or variations in revenue contracts, it is now possible to also display a cost and margin per assignment. By default this is visible to Administrators only but can be made visible more broadly in the Contract Permissions section of Configuration

  • Contracts: Added a chart picking interface to the contract list for a project screen

  • Contracts: Added a configuration setting to specify the next AR Invoice No

  • Contracts: Added Contract Custom Field template variables

  • Contracts: Contract summary tables now have column picking functionality

  • Costs/Revenue: Added additional charts and a chart picking interface to the Costs and Revenue tabs

  • 🆕 Added transactional method for Budget Changes (Budget Transfers) (optional feature)

  • 🆕 Added per-lifecycle filtering to Project Costs template control


📁 Documents


  • Documents: Added ability to optionally add specific colours to items in a custom dropdown list, this colour is visible as the background colour in the final UniPhi document

  • Documents: A record is now taken every time a person views or downloads a UniPhi document

  • Documents: Added a new "Document View" license which allows you to share specific UniPhi documents with external parties by sending them an email link

  • Documents: Added a new Register tab for managing the storage, version control and transmittal of files such as design drawings

  • Documents: Added the ability to Combine PDFs in the Documents Tab, Contracts Completed Claims tab, and when saving an individual document to pdf

  • Documents: Implement column picking and column filtering in Documents tab

  • Documents: PDF documents which contain annotations (comments) will have those automatically extracted when uploaded into the Document -> Register tab

  • 🆕 Added "Display Signatures" template control

  • 🆕 Added a "plain" table style without borders or header formatting

  • Expenses: Expense Claim Approvals entered via the Timesheets tab can now optionally be pushed to the Costs module as an Actual Cost on signoff. This can be configured by turning on the Include in Project Actual Costs" setting in the Expense Claim Approval template

  • 🆕 Added Expense Category and Notes fields

  • 🆕 Added column picking and re-ordering to Expenses import and management interface

  • 🆕 Added Cost Margin and Charge Margin columns to expenses import

  • 🆕 Added Task Name, Line No, Comment as importable fields; Approval Ref editable

  • 🆕 Added ability to split imported expense transactions

  • 🆕 Added Transaction Type, Event Date and ability to map Expense to a Person

  • Resources: Added # of contracts count and value to organisation view in resources dashboard all projects

  • Templates: Issue Summary template control now has additional columns and improved column picking functionality when creating templates

  • Templates: Project Milestones template control now has additional columns and improved column picking functionality when creating templates

  • Templates: Risk Register template control now has additional columns and improved column picking functionality when creating templates

  • Templates: Added a "Set Project Phase on Document Signoff" optional setting to templates, such that when a document created from that template is signed off, it can act as a stage gate and automatically move the projects current lifecycle phase to the one specified in the template configuration


🕒 Timesheets


  • Timesheets: Added ability to flag Standard Timesheet Tasks as Open/Closed


🖥️ UI


  • UI: End users can now define their own dashboard columns in the Project, Issues, Risks and Resources summary screens. Administrators can still define the system defaults


🕒Timesheets Admin


  • Added a Timesheet Admin report folder, with reports specifically for Timesheet Admin licensed users which let them review and manage timesheets for their Organisation


👥Resource Module


  • Resource module Rates for Classifications and People can now be defined on a per-project basis

Overview Previously, approvals were tied strictly to license levels. Now, UniPhi supports a hybrid model where approvals can be driven by Project Roles  (Method 1) or Specific Individuals  (Method 2).
