All inception-to-date timesheets must be in UniPhi to generate accurate claims. There are two main workflows for capturing this time.
Option 1: Direct Timesheeting in UniPhi
End users log in and timesheet directly into UniPhi against the specific project WBS. This method generally leads to better quality project data and a smoother commercial management process.
Option 2: Importing from a Home Finance System
End users timesheet in their corporate "home" finance system (like Oracle or BST), and the hours are imported into UniPhi .
There are three primary methods for importing this data:
API: An automated, programmatic feed using the UniPhi API .
Excel Copy/Paste: A self-service import using the out-of-the-box Excel copy/paste feature located in the Timesheets tab.
Bespoke Upload Interface: A custom-built uploader that matches the exact format of your home system's export, which can also apply project-specific business rules .
Hybrid Workflow
To avoid double entry, a common recommendation is a hybrid approach:
Users enter a single-line item for the project in their home finance system (e.g., "40 hours - Sydney Metro").
Users then enter their detailed WBS breakdown directly into UniPhi (e.g., "10 hours - Activity A," "30 hours - Activity B").
This satisfies corporate finance requirements while providing the detailed data needed for project controls. A reconciliation report is then used to ensure the totals match.
